The climate change in 2022 has been quite serious, especially affecting European

countries, like the United Kingdom. According to the government, “ it has been the hottest temperature in centuries.” which is also affecting countries like Denmark which

was at 42ºc and now is at 31ºc and some residents say it feels like they are in the

Caribbean. There have also been deaths due to the heat with the top 3 being Germany

with 8,138, Spain with 2,894 and the United Kingdom with 16. All caused by heat stroke.

The highest temperature recorded this year was in Pinhão, Portugal which was 47.0 ºC (116.6 ºF) on July 14.

World wide there have been over 12,000 deaths due to the heat wave.

This has also affected the U.S.A terribly as Biden was short of declaring a climate emergency. He also sent out $2.3.bn in funding to help small communities prepare for the following heatwaves with air conditioner, water and new planned offshore wind energy leases for the Gulf of Mexico coast.

“Right now, there are millions of people suffering from extreme heat at home so my team is also working with the states to deploy $385m right now. For the first time, states will be able to use federal funds to pay for air conditioners in homes, and set up community cooling centers in schools where people can get through these extreme heat crises.” - Joe Biden

Costa Rica Climate Change 2022

Climate change could have a major impact on the environment of Costa Rica, upsetting delicate mountain cloud forests, and causing a decrease in plant and animal species in a region famous for its biodiversity. Regional climate change models predict that the area will become warmer and drier as climate change accelerates.
