College Fair at BVS
Our experience
By Milena Chaves and Francesca Rodríguez
On September 26th, 13 colleges from the US came to visit our school. Students took advantage of a free hour to gather information on new opportunities. College representatives took turns introducing themselves in the Sala Magna, and these short presentations entailed a brief description of where they were located, what majors they focused on and what scholarship or internship opportunities they offered.
What stood out the most was that some universities offered liberal art majors that most schools do not regularly offer, and they have a large variety of choices and majors/minors you can combine depending on your interests.

Overall, this experience allowed students to clear up any doubts they had about college, or any of the
universities in specific. From our experience, we learned the majority of universities don’t require the SAT anymore, as it could give you a boost when applying, but it is optional. We also cleared up doubts about financial aid and scholarships offered by several universities. Seeing colleges, especially from other countries, widens student options and guides them into deciding what they want to study.
